Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know before we work together — from how sessions work to where I'll travel. If your question isn't here, just reach out.

  • I specialize in environmental portraits, personal branding photography, editorial work, and documentary projects. Whether you're a creative professional who needs images for your brand, a business that wants to show the real people behind the work, or a publication looking for an editorial photographer, I bring the same approach: I photograph people in the places that shape them.

I also work with families, children, and young creatives. Not the matching-outfits-in-a-field kind. I'm drawn to kids who carry something different about them — the ones who stand out and know it, or don't know it yet. Those are the portraits that stay with me.

  • Studio photography controls everything — the light, the background, the mood. I work the other way around. I come to you — your workshop, your kitchen, your office, the field where you train — and I photograph you in the environment that tells your story.

The result is something that feels like you, not like a backdrop. You get portraits that show context, personality, and the world you've built around yourself. It's the difference between a photo of someone and a photo that says something about who they are.

  • It starts with a conversation. I want to understand who you are, what you do, and what these photos need to accomplish. From there, we figure out the right location — usually your workspace, your home, or somewhere meaningful to you.

On the day, I keep things relaxed. I'll direct when it helps, but mostly I'm paying attention and letting real moments happen. Sessions typically run one to two hours, depending on the project. You'll receive a curated set of edited images, within two weeks, usually sooner.

  • Not at all — most people I work with feel that way. I don't need you to perform. My job is to make you comfortable enough that you forget I'm there. That's when the best photos happen. I spend time, I don't rush, and I let trust build. If you're camera-shy, you're actually my ideal client.

  • Yes. Some of my favorite work is with kids and teenagers — they're unfiltered in a way that makes for powerful portraits. I've photographed young rodeo riders, marching band members, school kids in West Africa, and plenty of children right here in Colorado. I work patiently and let their personality come through naturally.

  • Absolutely. If you're an entrepreneur, creative professional, or small business owner who needs photos that actually represent who you are and what you do, that's right in my wheelhouse. I approach branding shoots the same way I approach all my work — I'm interested in what's real. You won't get generic corporate headshots. You'll get images rooted in your environment, your process, and your personality.

  • I'm based in Boulder County, Colorado, and I regularly work with clients across Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and the surrounding Front Range. I also take on projects outside of Colorado — some of the work on this site was made in India, West Africa, and across the American West. If the project is right, I'll go wherever the story is.

  • Start by reaching out through the contact form. Tell me a little about yourself and what you're looking for. I'll get back to you within a few hours, and we'll set up a time to talk through the details — no pressure, no sales pitch. Just a conversation about what you need and whether I'm the right fit.

  • Pricing depends on the scope of the project — a one-hour portrait session is different from a multi-day brand shoot or a long-form documentary piece. After we talk through what you're looking for, I'll send you a clear, straightforward quote. No hidden fees, no surprises.
