Descendants of European royalty were seen at the Boulder County Fairgrounds this weekend. I’m not talking about narcissistic royals. I’m talking about miniature horses. These diminutive descendants stand around thirty-four inches tall and could fit in the back of your Subaru. Additionally, they have way more personality than any duchess and prince, well, maybe not that purple Prince. God rest his funky soul.

These tiny horses from as far away as Kansas were in Longmont to qualify for the American Miniature Horse Association's World Championship Show, held each September at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
